Architecture-based Quality Prediction

This research group is concerned with making software design an engineering discipline. The ability to predict properties of a system with the help of theories in the form of models based on the design of the system can be seen as a defining property of an engineering discipline. Hence, we research (i) in languages (metamodels) to describe software architectures and (ii) in analysis approaches using models of these languages to predict software quality properties. Quality properties of current interest are dependability properties, such as performance, reliability, performability, resilience and security. Languages, models and analysis approaches are validated empirically regarding their accuracy, robustness and applicability with empirical case studies and industry cooperations.
